Chr. Hansen Improves Internal Communications and Collaboration with New Responsive Cloud Intranet

With international presence in over 30 countries, and research & development centers in 5 of these, Chr. Hansen is truly a global company.

In 2015 Chr. Hansen identified a need to improve internal communications and collaboration across product divisions, countries and job roles. They operate with five different intranet personas: innovation, production, sales, office work and management.

Chr. Hansen were already using parts of Office 365 (e-mail workload and SharePoint Online based Team sites), so it was natural to look for an intranet solution that worked well in an Office 365 context.

Now available from anywhere and from any device, their new intranet offers great communications and collaboration features from Office 365 and Wizdom. E.g. videos from Office 365 video can be used in the news stories, pages can easily be translated with Bing Translate and pages can be further discussed on Yammer. Employees, also, now benefit from the Office Graph when Delve surfaces personalized relevant information when people search for colleagues.


Wizdom for Office 365 gave us a head start with its cloud based approach and responsive design. We especially like that it includes a lot of building blocks that SharePoint Online did not offer out of the box.


We styled and branded our intranet e.g. with display templates and we also leveraged the Wizdom extensibility framework to build some additional unique Chr. Hansen features.
